Can we keep our existing telephone numbers?

Yes, most of the UK network carriers have agreements in place so that your telephone numbers can be moved from one supplier to another, this is referred to as ‘number porting’. There will be a one-off charge to move your number(s) across from your old supplier and this process usually takes 2-4 weeks. However, your existing numbers can be forwarded to our system whilst this process is happening and we can present your number on outgoing calls in the interim period.

Can we re use our current handsets?

Yes, our cloud-based phone system supports the main manufacturer’s SIP handsets that you may already have, these include Mitel 68xx and 69xx models, Yealink, Poly and Snom. We may need to contact your old supplier to get them removed from their provisioning server and some handsets are locked down but the majority of handsets can be used. This will save on additional hardware costs.

Do we have to have a desk phone?

No, with our cloud based hosted system you can use a mobile softphone application, a PC desktop softphone application or a web-based softphone as well as, or instead of, a physical handset. All you will need for the PC and web-based softphones is a headset.

Does everyone need to have the same type of license?

No, we can provide a mix and match of the different licenses available to suit your business needs.

Do we need to purchase handsets or can we rent them?

You can do either, whatever suits you as a business. In some cases, we can also provide the handsets on a lease purchase agreement so you can spread the cost of the handsets but own them at the end of the agreement. The rental and lease agreements are subject to terms and conditions so please do contact us to discuss this.

What are 'Hosted Telephone Systems'?

Hosted Telephone Systems, also known as 'Hosted PBX' or 'Cloud PBX', are telecommunications solutions whereby the entire phone system operates in the cloud, hosted and maintained by a third party service provider (us). This means that businesses do not need on-site equipment as everything is managed in our data centres. Hosted Telephone Systems can be secure if implemented with key security measurements. Here at A2B Technology we install data encryption with our devices and we invest in network security infrastructure, including firewalls and intrusion detection, to keep your systems secure.

Are A2B Technology's handsets compatible with my existing phone system?

If you are using a VoIP system then our handsets will be compatible with your existing phone system. If your business is not using a VoIP system then an A2B Technology engineer will visit your business and conduct a survey to find out if your equipment is compatible. We can then advise you accordingly to ensure the best fit for your business.
